I can't believe we're already bouting again this Sunday, but here are some pics from our first bout on March 19th. I was so pleased with how things turned out. It was definitely a success for us, coming together in less than a year!! The skating was good. We're all still learning, but I was really proud of everyone and I felt like we'd made HUGE improvements since November. These may look like ordinary derby photos to everyone else, but look closely and you will see the extraordinary magic to be found wherever determined women gather together. : )

I never got my feedback to you! Gah! No matter how much time I spend in front of a computer, it is NEVER long enough, it seems!!

I'll try to get that today -- much of it won't do you much good at this late date ... but some of it will!

We're actually playing sooner because of the Easter holiday falling on what would be our usual bout date. Email me directly with any feedback; I'd be appreciative of anything you can tell me. The biggest problem that I saw was not enough engaging, but I know there were other things that we could improve. But we can talk more via email. : )

I heard there is a festival of some kind in San Antonia in April. Are you going to be skating that weekend?

It's Fiesta...goes on for about 10 days, I think, and starts later this month. This weekend is our only bout in April, but you should definitely come and see us sometime this season!!!! I would love that!!

I feel a litle silly about this but I don't really understand what a roller derby bout is? Is it a race, or a relay? Do you tackle each other and try to knock the other team down? Englighten me please, m'dear!
