Vote

I think I may be guilty of voter intimidation.

Me: Don't tell me who you're voting for. I don't want to know. Really.

Him: I am equally disgusted by the both of them.

Me: Really?

Him: Yeah, they both are equally repugnant to me.

Me: Well, in that case, I'd be asking myself if voting for one candidate will get me more head than voting for the other.

Him: *laughing*

Me: Dude. I'm totally serious.

This just redeemed the election for me.

Where were you when they were putting together the marketing campaign?
Nationwide, this could easily have swayed over 50% of the undecided vote.
Damn...it's too bad that Lisa and I agreed on a candidate.

Is there any other way to see it?

Ha! Exactly!

[identity profile] nightgarden.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
coercion, maybe, but hardly intimidation.

did you hear about the "fuck the vote" thing? basically a group of women going around doing pretty much what you just described, only on a much larger scale.

[identity profile] catelin.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, I didn't hear about it...but I've known people to fuck for a lot less noble reasons, so more power to 'em, I say. ; )

[identity profile] nightgarden.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
they were going to the swing states and cozying up to men (and maybe some women, i dunno, but i can't imagine any self-respecting dyke voting for bush), and then making them sign a pledge to vote for kerry in return for sexual favors. i don't know if it worked--if the pledgers will keep their promises--but it's certainly a better reason to fuck (and a better way of influencing votes!) than a lot of others i can think of!

Girl, damn! You rock.

[identity profile] quuf.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh!

I'm feeling all fluffy!

[identity profile] circumambulate.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that more likely qualifies as buying votes.

[identity profile] chaizzilla.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
damn, and i can't answer that question.

I'd like to book one for the next election, it will take me that long to get citizenship, but it'll be worth it.

See, I think that...

[identity profile] bjohnson.livejournal.com 2004-11-02 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
...framing the argument that way makes it totally understandable to most men. This is a real breakthrough in communications.

You are SO fine! :::cracking up::: Use those feminine wiles girlfriend. ; )

[identity profile] nandan.livejournal.com 2004-11-04 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
And the result?

[identity profile] catelin.livejournal.com 2004-11-04 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The result? Ha! You know, I would never really ask anyone who they voted for...so I guess we'll never know! He has tried to hint about a thousand times since then, though. ; )

Stumbled across this entry, as people are wont to do.

Hah. Way to fight for the cause, sista'.

I'm a barista, and there were these three girls from California that came in about a week before the election, spewing some dribble about how they'd feel more comfortable with Bush in office --he has, after all, had some experience! (ugh)-- but they really didn't know for whom they should vote.

I bought them coffee for Kerry.

And am wholly contented in assuming that they held out their part of the bargain, however unsafe such an assumption may be.

Hah! Thanks! :D

Granted, I'll never be as good as Capote, but a boy can dream, can't he?

I love my Capoters. Have you taken a look at the new collection of his letters that's out? He's hilariously queeny :)

And if only I had the efficacy to manifest dreams into reality. Ambition only goes so far: it's disappointingly stunted by one's actual capabilities, of which I'm at a harsh poverty :\
