Odds & Ends

My last day of work ended on a bit of a sweet-n-sour note today. There was a lovely luncheon/pot luck thingie in my honor and most everyone was genuinely sad to see me go. My best friend, the girl detective, even managed to come over and get through the whole thing without bursting into tears as she's done every time "the move" has been mentioned for the last month or so. The sour bit came when I had to defend against the two office cockroaches trying to "tattle" to my boss that I'd left early and had not been in the office a couple of days this week. Uh, ok...well...nice try, cuntrags...but things like that always backfire when you don't know what's going on and you presume that you do. As usual, karma takes care of everything.

Just a few more days here and I'm off on the road. I haven't even figured out a route yet. I should probably do that sometime soon. I'm probably going to dye my hair tonight...darker...I may end up looking like Morticia Adams, but I figure so what? If there were ever a season for me to relive my gothgirl days it's now. It's barely starting to sink in that, for a while at least, it doesn't matter what color my hair is or whether my tattoo shows through my shirt. That's going to be a much needed breath of fresh air!

Cate, you are engaged upon a new adventure that will reveal so many of your potentials. i am pleased for you and somewhat envious.
i remember when i left the DA's office. it was one of the most freeing days of my life. since that time so many of my passions have risen to the surface as potential opportunities, i never imagined, have risen to the surface.
may you sense the freedom to be more of WHO you are--i believe you have just begun. :)

Thanks, David. That really is how I feel this morning---free! It's always been hard for me to let go of things but it was definitely time for me to move on and look toward something new. Life really is a grand adventure, isn't it? : )

Thanks, Patrick! I don't think that we'll be going through DC, but once I move we will certainly be close enough to merit a face-to-face visit one of these days. I am dying to meet H. She sounds so incredibly cool!!

The only thing I can think of is beverages (you don't want me picking the wine again, do you? Heehehehe!) and movies. Mid-afternoon is groovy. I can't wait to see ya'll!
