Well, I'm still here. Yesterday was a rough day. Thanks so much to all of you who commented. It really made me feel much less alone in my outrage and that's always a good thing, no? ; ) The good news is that everything seems to have smoothed over a bit. I called the witness and wished him well in his treatment and told him not to ever worry about the case again because he was off my witness list. Then I waited. The good thing I've found about speaking out when people are doing things that they should be ashamed of is that you can usually give them a little time to reflect on it and they'll come around. My boss is a good man. His focus just needed to shift back to the bigger human picture. I think it did, at least enough to keep me here for a few more weeks. So, I'm off again to go chase down evidence for Monday.

what seems like a certain injustice at one moment--given time and YOUR perspective of integrity played itself out. justice isn't all about the law.
