It's official. We have a house. A beautiful house that is so perfect for us it seems to have simply dropped from sky. It's close enough to NYC to suit my Brooklyn-raised city boy and far enough away to satisfy my need for open space and trees. Bliss. So, [livejournal.com profile] tsarina, you up for a cross-country road trip in August/early September with me, my grandmother's china, and my herd of small animals?

Coming your way in email when I get home tonight! : ) I can't wait for you to see it. I'm thrilled!!

That's the nice thing about the area surrounding the city, you can have quiet, space, and open areas and then take a train into the city if the mood strikes you.

I'm sure you can't wait to see the critter's first encounter with deep snow.

Ha! Seeing as my canine critters are only about eight inches high (if you don't include their question mark tails) that is definitely going to be comical! I'll need to knit some doggie sweaters.

Yay! Let's hope they will let me free from work. I so want to see the house.

I'll know a date certain once we have a date for the closing, but I'll definitely need someone to come along. Hopefully you can!

Not sure when, but to this Texas girl everything up there seems soooooo close!!! I plan on many trips to many northern places! : )

It really isn't so bad.

H was doing a thing at Princeton last fall (about an hour from NY), it took about four hours to get there.

It's great! It turns out that the lady in the couple that lived there before was in a wheelchair, so it is completely accessible with no need for any remodeling at all. David used to say all the time that *maybe* we could find a house where someone in a chair was living and I would be like "Are you smoking crack??? That will never happen!"

And it did! Just the universe's way of tickling my ribs and reminding me not to be such a know-it-all! ; )

Hee! Well, a New Jersian (New Jerseyite??? Hell, I don't know!). Regardless, I'm a bit too old to lose my accent. I'm stuck with that. It does kind of freak me out to think that my kids won't sound like me in a few years.

Oh, that is gorgeous, delightful news.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

How lovely - I know you'll find the wonders of NY and beyond. Ride the Cyclone at Coney Island for me!

David's parents are already planning to take the boys to Coney Island in July! I think we're all going to be really happy up there. : )

Once I get settled, I will definitely want to meet you and the fabulous Ms. S. in person.

Oh, and congrats to you both on the marathon lottery. One of my friends here just got accepted as well.

Re: NYC

Something like all of the above. I'm getting married. We'll actually be living in New Jersey, though.

Re: NYC

Parts of New Jersey are quite nice. I would definitely prefer living there to most of Long Island. There are trees, grass, and other things New Yorkers only see in a park.

Once we have a closing date, I'll post some. I'm superstitious enough to worry about jinxing it now! : O

I can't wait to hear more of the changes a foot in your life! :) Deb
