Oh, how I sometimes wish I could win the lottery.

Does anyone want to go cut lavender with me on Saturday afternoon? We'd need to be in Blanco around 2:00pm.

When oh when are you going to come visit me???? I have a feeling you'd be the one showing me around! : )

i only know the few places i went fairly regularly, there aren't many. a trip to austin's coming someday, probably after i've been working again for a while, so it's gonna be a while before i go anywhere. it's wierd feeling myself pegged into a specific groove for a year ahead of me, not sure i've ever done this intentionally before. if i do visit, rest assured it'll likely be in the fall after it cools down, late october/early novemberish if i remember right.. there's still some pecans to be had and barton creek stops charging, etc etc

Lavender Farm

What exactly does one do with lavender, except look at it growing out on the back 40? Do they make dye from it or something? Perfume?

Re: Lavender Farm

What does one do with lavender, he asks!!!! It smells like heaven and there's all sorts of things to do with it. You can stuff it in pillows, make bath oils and soaps, candles, potpourri...and the list goes on, you poor lavender deficient soul! ; )

Re: Lavender Farm

I did read on and find that they have been selling it to florists and in farmers markets.

if lavendar were growing in my back 40, they'd never get me inside the house again.

Yes! Yes! We could have lunch, wander around, and then cover ourselves in lavender! Call me if you can make it over this way!

Heheh. I have this fantastic image of us rolling around in a field of lavender.

I am so there, and if I'm not there because I live in Boston, I am so jealous.

If we all pitch in, we can buy the house and turn it into a writers' haven. I'll empty my piggy bank....

Wouldn't that be wonderful? If we all pitched in and began our own little lavender artists/writers/generally interesting people colony?
