I have been obsessively thinking about this haircut for two days. I know better than to even try, but it's nice to think about the possibility.

That is a gorgeous cut and I think you definitely have the bone structure (and looks) for it. I know it's hard to give up long hair (I had hair down my back about 5, 6 years ago) but it does grow back and short hair shows off pretty faces. But of course it's ultimately your decision and your hair. And braids are fun.
