I'll be leaving tomorrow for the annual rites of autumn debauchery otherwise known as the Texas County and District Attorneys Association prosecutors' conference. This year's debacle will be in Galveston. I've been relatively well-behaved most of the time, with the exception of that whipped-cream-sundae-on-the-chest contest a couple of years ago. But, hey, we won...so all was forgiven. My best pal and office mate has, for the second year in a row, managed to get me signed up as "Sasquatch." Yes, that's the name on all my materials and the nametag you have to wear to do anything. He always thinks that's just the funniest practical joke and I don't ever have the heart to spoil his fun. And like last year, I will just go with the Sasquatch flow. : ) I'll be busily scribbling away during those boring lectures, so expect mail soon all you beautiful people!

As pranks go, it could be worse. You could find a tomahawk in your hotel bed (and if you're unfamiliar with that reference I'd be happy to relate it to you).
