I want to add that a few of our leaders have offered words that are like beacons in the darkness. Senator Joe Biden helped me articulate the paradox of my anger at both the evil in our own foreign policy and the evil of terrorists. He said that this terrible act is not about ideology, religion or ethnicity. It is about barbarism vs. civilization.

And Mario Cuomo provided grace from his own gritty wisdom when he said that if only all people united to care for one another in day to day life as they have in this crisis, this world would not see such sorrow. I know perhpas this goes without saying, but it goes without doing as well...

I want to live as a better child of this world.
