HE'S HOME!!!!!!!!
Evidently, while I was picturing him dying a slow, painful death out in the woods somewhere, he was busy eating Snausages and Beggin' Strips...being spoiled and pampered by woman who lives a block over. He didn't come when we called because he was inside lolling around watching television. Her neighbor saw the flier we put up yesterday with his photo and they called me this morning after court.

She told me that her husband had been calling him "Elmer." I'm making a donation to the local shelter here in their name as a thank you. I have never been so relieved! And I've never seen my boys so joyful!

The power of your good thoughts definitely worked its magic. Thank you all from all of us (including Buster a.k.a. Elmer)!

Yay!!

(My dog doesn't do Beggin' Strips, as it says on the label they're for dogs. If it just said "bacon," then yeah, that's food.)

WHOO-HOO! I'm so so so HAPPY! I kept looking at that adorable picture that you posted; his face and eyes are so compelling. And I kept thinking about his story, and how much I liked him when I met him. So I am relieved beyond words to hear that he's home. Thank goodness for those neighbors!

That's great.

I remember that when I was about eight years old, a large fluffy dog of some sort wandered into our yard. We kept him for a few days although we also posted an ad about him in our local paper. He was claimed fairly quickly, and that was okay. I wasn't too disappointed and I'm sure his owners were thrilled to have him back.

As a young boy I lost our beloved cat on Christmas Eve. There was no joy in the day, no joy in Santa's visit, until we got a call on Christmas Day from a neighbor: "We found your cat!"

It was a big big joy. I'm so glad for your boys. I know the feeling.

Yay! So glad he's OK...although I hope he hasn't gotten too used to the easy life of TV and snausages on demand. :)

heee! ELMER!!!!!

happy to hear he is home!

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that. My dog ran away when I about Jacob's age; I thought it was the end of the world, until we found her wandering in the woods half a mile away.

I think she was just as glad to be coming home as we were to have her. So much for the call of the wild.

I am laughing and crying at the same time. (What a sap.) I had a feeling he was off having a little luxurious vacation somewhere. His life was too good with you guys for him to have just run off and disappeared.

We loves the Busterman.

OH... I am so happy to hear that...too many times you hear about missing pets and never hear about it again... So glad he is ok...

Yay! So good to be reunited with him!

(And Elmer is a great name -- reminds me of my great uncle. I wonder if I could ever name a kid 'Elmer'?)

Yay!
ITs probably his way of letting you know you don't feed him enough junk food.

Oh, this is the BEST news I've heard all day. Seriously. I was so sad thinking about this and I couldn't stop.

Dogs need to leave a note when they go off for a sleepover.

I'm glad Buster is back safely.

Elmer was my Grandad's name!

All small creatures are named Elmer. You poor dear! You and your little boys, who have the softest of hearts. I'm so relieved Buster came back to you safe and stuffed with crumpets.
