How do you decide which part of your life to pack up into a box and take with you when you go?

I know this feeling well, as I'm sure you do. I have so MUCH regret for things I've left behind in the past. I've often wanted to bring a shovel to the landfill late in the night...

I'm not sure what to tell you, but just wanted to say hello once again, and continue to wish you peace in this move...

*hugs*

Hehe! Thanks! I am trying so hard not to be a packrat this time around. I keep telling myself how nice it will be to start fresh without all the clutter. : )

Which ever part would fit under the seat in front of you or the overhead compartment.

Well, I guess that settles it then. *Boxing up Kid One and Kid Two.*

moving is not fun

I pulled all the clothes out of my closet that I hadn't worn in the two years I have lived here. It was hard to let go off the pair of bluejeans I wore in high school that had zippers at the ankles. I wore those jeans when I hung out with the journalism boys, my heros.

I don't really know. Maybe just the things I can't live without, the memories I can't leave behind.

I have clothes that remind me of things too...and I just can't bring myself to get rid of them, even though I'll probably never wear them again (e.g. snakeskin hotpants, pink/black checkerboard Vans, furry dice hat...you know, the essentials. Hahaha!).

It all depends on the size of the box. Sometimes, the box is immense, big enough for an entire world. Sometimes, the box is just big enough for a black 50s jacket, a pair of jeans, an "Eraserhead" T-shirt and a pair of high tops.

Or so I've heard.

That movie really makes me giggle! Then again, I guffawed almost all the way through The Bad Lieutenant.

I have a plan

look at whatever it is and imagine yourself in five years time, will you still need/want it then? If not, ditch it.

I've tried this and it works most, but not all, of the time.

Not sure when your'e moving but jolly good luck with it.

I've tried that...it's the intervening years between one and five that get to me, though. ; )
