I have, after two years in a row of wanting to try it and having a million reasons why I couldn't spare the time, decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year. The main focus of any spare time I have over the next few months will be dedicated to increasing the volume of writing I've been doing over the last few years. I figured that this exercise in volume-writing would be as good a way as any to kick start my brain.

I'm feeling such a sense of relief about not having to go back to work next week. I don't even think it will really sink in until Tuesday, when I would ordinarily have to be back at work. It's raining here today. I am being incredibly lazy, doing nothing but reading and eating junk food. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to deal with all the animals we are transporting. My two old boys have traveled before and done just fine. The two younger ones haven't, but I'm sure they'll be alright as well. And Buster & Trixie...well, they are happy to go anywhere, anytime, with anyone!

Beautiful critters! I was wondering after our phone chat what your zoo might actually look like.

I think I'll give NaNoWriMo a try, too. Want to be enemies? ;)

Write On!

Ha! You're on, sister! ;-P

We should talk again soon. I'll try to give a call before I leave now that I am a lady of leisure!

Re: Write On!

SWEET. (I have no idea what I'm doing and I don't even have premise -- this should be interesting.)

Call anytime!

Unlike some people, I am not a lady of leisure, but if I'm not home I promise to call you back. :)

She's a sweetheart...showed up on my doorstep one day about three years ago. At first, I tried not feeding her because I figured she would leave. But she had decided that was where she was staying and I have no doubt now that she was stubborn enough to stay there and die on my porch just to spite me for not taking her in. She was a pregnant teen so I got her a little kitty abortion, had her fixed, and she's been with me ever since. I would have named her Mary Magdalene, but the kids get first picks of names and they called her Nella. I have no idea why. She's a tiny little thing, small even for a cat.

I am in love with Zelda, and wish her a safe and stressless journey. My cats always travel better when they are ensconced in their own private cat carrier on one of my favorite sweaters, curled up with their stuffed animals.

Haven't commented in awhile on your journal, but even though it has nothing to do with your current posting I felt compeled to comment! *smile* I've been thinking of you and your boys, and your animal companions and the upcomming trip to new homes. I wish you all the best and much much excitement! *smile* What a wonderful new adventure you are all in for!
