This is the worst picture of myself I've seen in years.
And they expect me to have it on an I.D. card!!!??
Cripes!

Its not very flattering, but then again, it doesn't make you look like an axe-murderer or an escapee from the local lunatic asylum, which is always a plus point on these things! lol
You should see Forest's pic on his id from his previous college... looks like a serial killer so he does! ::giggle::

Re:

Ha! I dunno...simpering idiot under bad lighting vs. mental patient axe-murderer...it's hard to say which is worse! Gah! I may actually become an axe-murderer if I don't get another picture taken next week! ; )

From: [identity profile] wolfdreamer.livejournal.com

I don't think it's that bad. You look tired in the photo, but not ghastly or anything. And for an ID pic, it's actually pretty good!

From: [identity profile] froglegs.livejournal.com

Oh, that's nothing. I have one that the local YMCA did for me where my face looks melted. I guess it looks melted because my face is aimed down yet tilted to one side, with my eyes closed, and my chin shoved into my neck so my face is nearly lost in the chins that result from said contortions. I am not sure if I could repeat it if I tried. I promise myself each time that I will tell them I lost it and get another... but there is something about having a melted looking face.

I warned you about road rage!

Dear Mario Andrettiette,

You have to be polite to other motorists.

Ah, Danny...ever the gentleman! I think next week I'll tell the guy taking the pictures to be sure to stick the camera UP my nose because it just didn't look QUITE BIG ENOUGH this time around. ; )

HAHAHA!!! That's great! And I'm six feet tall!!! Whooohoooo!!

Ok...I lie...I'm only 5'2".

I've got one of those too! That could be an exact description of one of my old college i.d. cards!

Which is going to be my defense: Road Rage Insanity Caused by Too-High Heels. Defendant exclaims, "My feet were killing me!!"

Not nearly as far-fetched as the Twinkie defense. ; )

and do you know why?

Because you're not wearing your tiara! :P

I can only imagine the face of a state trooper or some such official, looking at your id card, and picture of you grinning with your tiara on. Hee!

From: [identity profile] tsarina.livejournal.com

Re: and do you know why?

I'm wearing mine for my new drivers license picture next year. :D

From: [identity profile] buscemi.livejournal.com

Don't worry...

...yours turned out much better than mine. I'd scan it, but:

a) My scanner doesn't work with my puter anymore
b) The damn state seal would show up on the scan, screwing up the picture

From: [identity profile] jema.livejournal.com

this may be a combination of things like
*i just saw the movie orlando
*i haven't seen that many pictures of you before
*etc etc

but i think you look just like a swooning court-lady from the chambers of queen elizabeth. oh and yes, a tiara would sit perfectly on your brow.

From: [identity profile] cogsinister.livejournal.com

I dont think your pic is that bad.....i love the convict version of it......lol !!!

From: [identity profile] jaarronn.livejournal.com

In my eyes...

bad photo or not, I think you are beautiful!

Re: and do you know why?

Heeeee!!! So that's the problem!! Next week my first royal proclamation shall be no more i.d. photos without my tiara! Oh, and I'm thinking we definitely need to plan a shopping trip to Nuevo Laredo before Christmas. You up for that?

Re: Don't worry...

My driver's license photo is even worse. I look like I'm being shocked with a cattle prod in that one.

Jema! Welcome, welcome! : ) I love that movie! Well, I am a court lady (not for a queen, but I work in the courtroom!) and I do have a tiara...so now I just need to learn how to swoon!

I'm tickled pink that you added me to your list of friends, by the way. I'd been reading your journal for a while, interesting lady, on the friends page of a friend. : )

Yeah, that's definitely my favorite too. Perhaps they'll just let me use that one?

From: [identity profile] verian.livejournal.com

Forgive me

but the look on your face is one that I would liken to that of a woman receiving an internal examination and trying to pretend that there is not somebody down there fiddling about.

:0

From: [identity profile] wyld-west.livejournal.com

It's not that bad of a picture - I'll take your word for it that it could be better though. I hate having mine taken, I feel as though the pics never really look like me (or if I really look that way, yikes!).

It is apparent that you can wear wonderful color, such as the red, and your skin tone loves it. I wish I could wear something besides black, brown, white, navy without looking like I'm post-mortem.

From: [identity profile] skiterlady.livejournal.com

You know something? I think it's lovely. I think you have the classic, angelic features of a highly passionate yet tightly contained woman from a D.H. Lawrence novel. You look like storms are stirring behind those clear, direct eyes. Your cheeks have the ruddy tinge of a long walk down a muddy British lane in the middle of November. Stiff breezes have been plucking at your hair, but you will not come undone. You are one of the most beautiful women I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Re: Forgive me

Heh! Shows how much you know! That is definitely NOT the face I would have in such a case.

From: [identity profile] catelin.livejournal.com

I know what you mean about pictures never looking like you. I have yet to see a photo of myself where I think yeah, that's soooooo me. Perhaps its the same as with our voices---how what we hear in our heads is so different than the sounds we actually make.
ext_53723: (Default)

From: [identity profile] catelin.livejournal.com

I could just kiss you, sweet mermaid, for making my day!!! You are wonderful! : )

From: [identity profile] nandan.livejournal.com

Next time -- tiara on and chin down as they say to the models. And don't forget to pout your lips and make your eyes smolder.

By the way, you have cheekbones to die for, even in a bad pic. I'm jealous!

From: [identity profile] nandan.livejournal.com

You've got it, there is something Lawrentian about that pic. Somehow I don't think the real Catelin is all that troubled though. She's a lady in control of her own destiny!

From: [identity profile] wolfdreamer.livejournal.com

Trust me, I'm not always a gentleman. Seriously, I didn't think the picture was that bad... but now that you've pointed OUT the nasal angle to me, I find I must stare at it for undue periods of time, wondering why the camera man didn't stick the camera up your nose this time around. Although, if it were me, with my luck, there would be a big booger stuck in my nose with a picture taken at that angle. Yep. So, see there? It's a good, attractive, boogerless picture!

From: [identity profile] verian.livejournal.com

Re: Forgive me

It does show how much I know, it's not as if I have actually watched somebody's face as they have had it done. Lord knows why I thought of that.
ext_53723: (Default)

From: [identity profile] catelin.livejournal.com

Heh!

That reminds me of the scene in Roxanne....Whatever you do, don't look at his nose!
ext_53723: (Default)

From: [identity profile] catelin.livejournal.com

Chin down? They'd only say that to me once! More like chins down at this age...that is a horror I don't care to contemplate! ; )

From: [identity profile] notwolf.livejournal.com

well...

...i'm afraid, that given my previous puppyisms i've tossed at yer feet, that nothin' ah would say would surprise yeh enough to truely delight you, cos you'd might by now even expect it outta me; tho not in arrogance, but familiarity, ma'am.

so, if i may just disagree with your opinion of the picture, and remind you that flowers can't see themselves.

From: [identity profile] doctorgogol.livejournal.com

My dear Cate, if that's the worst picture you've taken in years, then I fear the best would do me in completely. ;)

From: [identity profile] skiterlady.livejournal.com

That's odd - I thought the Lawrentian women were widely in charge of their destinies, as well...

I really didn't think of them as troubled.

From: [identity profile] nandan.livejournal.com

Re:

I haven't read Lawrence since college, so I'm far from an authority. I'm thinking mostly of Sons and Lovers. It seems to me that those women made choices, but were also somehow in the throws of destiny? Your description of Catelin's pic made me think of one of the side characters in Sons and Lovers. Isn't there an unhappy wife/mother in that story who was impassioned and a bit imprisoned by her unhappy passions?
