The landed gentry. That's me! I just did a deal for a trade of some legal services for a gorgeous lot just down the street from me. Tons of oaks and cedar, a nice little parcel. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but having it makes me feel good.
lacyunderall suggested that I could use it for a community garden. It's something I'm definitely open to. There are all sorts of good things that grow out here and we could probably construct a cool little gazebo from the cedar that we clear. The possibilities are endless. Anyone closeby that's interested, get in touch.
In other greenish news, I chainsawed (well, for a bit and then mostly bossed other people with a chainsaw around) several trees in my own yard. The back is amazing now!! Who knew it would make such a difference? I also planted a rose garden yesterday after I rescued some awful looking roses that they were going to toss out at Home Depot. I'll see if they can recuperate and thrive.
I'm still doing a bit of housecleaning, both professionally and personally. I've got no room for dead wood in either of these areas. Hypocrites, fuckers and fair weather friends, be warned; it's pruning time and I'm feeling pretty merciless and impatient with bullshit these days. No muss or fuss. You'll just look for that connection one day and it will be gone.
