Leave it to the friend who knows me longest and best to sum up the kind of friend I am better than I ever could.
Your de trop makes me want to add memories and places of my heart that are of you, CC. In the interest of cryptic entries, I will instead add, in your voice..
'I am a fierce friend. I love and wound and punish and forgive and hold tight to my friends as Jacob wrestled and held tight to God and said "I will not let you go until you have blessed me."'
I write this here, not only because I love it so much...but because it was ringing in my head throughout the last few days. Thank you, E., for your perspective on things. I think matters would have turned out very differently had your calm voice not tempered my hurt and anger a bit. Without rehashing any detail, I'll just say that things have been set straight as they can be, heartfelt apologies made, and faith restored a bit...at least enough to try and find a positive footing again. And I remain, as E. would say, a fierce friend.
The only other thing I have to say is how overwhelmed I was by everyone's kindness and good thoughts. I am humbled by the good fortune I have had in discovering all of you here...and my faith in this virtual world is renewed when I take stock of how many wonderful connections I've made because of it. I thank you all....and I just have to say to Ken for making me giggle, even in the worst of it....GO MARINERS! : )
