I'm going to paint my living room and write a story.

Painting? What color? I recommend...plaid!

you could paint a story and write your living room maybe?

Ah, painting by yourself. I suspect you're good at it.

I made the mistake of thinking I could paint my bedroom b/f I moved in, but had no one to help. My ceilings are about 14 feet and lots of moulding...well, it took me hours and hours, and I got so fed up/exhausted after two days (I had no music or anything, so the silence made me hallucinate, I think) I only did one coat...and it was semi-gloss (yuck--but they were out of flat and I *had* to do this right away) purple and well, you can imagine the streaking.

My boyfriend never lets me forget it. I think he mentions it one time per month at least. And I just reply that the streaking adds character!

i like the glossy stuff for doig that spongey swirly layering stuff, which i spose is gonna be prone to carbon dating but it's tons o fun - i got a whole book on it i liked it so much, it makes the fingerprints hard to spot fer sure

I'm not good at it...just persistent! My biggest project is painting a mural in the master bathroom. I'll probably be getting started on that next weekend. I have high ceilings and crown moulding throughout the house, and it sure makes for more work, doesn't it? I have a dark purple sofa and loveseat (almost the color on anodized iron, really). I did the walls with a terracotta wash. It turned out pretty nice actually. : ) Oh, and was I hallucinating or did I read that you are going to be around Austin sometime in the near future?

Ha! I did use a semi-gloss and a glaze to thin it. Turned out really well. I didn't even think about the fingerprint benefit! With the four little hands around here, that will definitely be a plus.

Sorry...terracotta. But don't feel bad; I do have a groovy plaid tablecloth! ; )

Believe me; I could probably accomplish more in that order! Heh!

Wow, a mural in the bathroom? That is beyond cool. Ha, I'd love to attempt that and see the owner have a hissy fit (I guess that is but one reason it's nice to own your home!). He begged me not to use any more dark paint in the apartment. Like I'd listen to him. I'm the one who lives here, bud.

Yes. I'm tentatively planning a trip to your parts in November. I plan on meeting Wendy in Houston and then take a drive up to Austin (I also want to fit in New Orleans b/c it's my favorite place!). So, I will indeed keep you posted, cuz I'd love to meet you!

Ah! Well, that'll do nicely, as well! But where's the argyle expected to go?
